76/365 the moon

A woman in her fertile years goes on "her moon" once a month.  The synchronicity with moon energy is evident all around us.  In women.  In the ocean tides.  The moon has a heavy energy, not to be toyed with, lest you think yourself wise enough to work with moon energy.
Now, being past those fertile years, I might have a better or clearer idea of what pure moon energy is.  But I wax poetic.
Nothing like a fat ol' moon hanging in the sky.  Brings out your inner howl.
I love being upstate in the woods, and being able to make my way around because of moonlight.
Moonlight Sonata.  Being ove the moon in love.
"To the moon, Alice." like Ralph would always say.

moonset sunday

I opted for a moonset today, instead of a sunset.  This was taken a couple of years ago during an early morning moon setting.

hunter's moon, and the bridge

I don't understand how people get good shots of the moon, showing the texture on its surface and all.  All I can get is a glowing white globe.  I guess I need a tripod and a stronger lens (though I thought my 55-200mm would have worked well).  Someday I would like to learn the knack of shooting the moon.
I guess any of the night scenes really require a tripod.
There's a pic of the moon beyond one of the antenna's on the roof... I call that The Receptive Moon, hehehe.

moonlight sonata

The moon wakes me, shining so brightly in my window. I come online and peruse some blogs... come along one that has music playing... Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata, and it makes me smile. Perhaps I was mean to wake up and delight in the moon.

She has moved past the point where I can view her... and the moonlight sonata is ending.

the wind and the moon

the howling arrives
a sharp wind on a cold day
it pierces my soul

total solar eclipse

Tonight is the new moon, and one minute after (10:24EST) there is a total solar eclipse (seen throughout Asia). I do wonder what effect such an event has on individuals.
This is a stream of consciousness piece:

I'm waiting for the rain to come, and the clouds are dense. The nearly dark moon shoves itself against me, rattling my brain, and turning me like the sun, all yang and irritation, wanting to growl and scratch and at least break something.
It's a breaking out I need. Is it a moon thing, this feeling where I must undress my skin, go invisible, like the moon, my veins and arteries cool camouflage for tiger lilies and tuber roots
So much of me mud, and the ingredients for houses built with good thick logs. I need to break ... it's not how it sounds, but it screams the same, it rips and roars... But it climbs as well, sometimes, it soars.

moon heart

I went up on the roof to see the fireworks. Too little action and too weak a camera to get any good shots. Took this pic of the nearly full moon, and lo, with some camera shake it turned into a heart!

whistling wind

What a fine lustre the moon draws in the sky. The wind is swift with winter moving. Sometimes I can't discern the sound of wind from the sound of a fast car going by. Is it that so many things sound like the wind, or that the wind sounds like so many things?

Hunter's Moon

I woke at 5am to the light of the moon shining in my bedroom. It's a full Hunter's moon today, and as glorious as ever, lighting the sky before dawn.

My 2 currents dolls are taking the backseat today, as my creative juices are wanting to flow in another direction. It's good to have half a dozen things going at the same time, I figure. That way, there's always something to pick up when the attention span starts waning on one particular piece.

I expect my photo card reader to arrive in the mail today. Found myself waiting for it yesterday, until I realized it was Columbus day, and there was no mail delivery.

I took a couple of pictures of the gourds that I'll be working on next, and will edit this post to include that as soon as I can get the pics up. They are miniature gourds, and some are the shape and size of a chicken egg. Let's see where they take me. I may try a bit of pyrography on them, but I'm not so versed in that, really. I'll probably cover the egg gourds completely (with clay), and use them as an armature shape for some Ladies of Abundance, which I haven't made since I first started claying 8 or 9 years ago.

The sky is lightening up now, and it looks to be a very gray overcast day, so far. I don't much mind that.
