vernal equinox and 700th post

Been up since before the dawn, and am just now finishing off a large container of Chock Full o' Nuts coffee.  The sky appears blue, and the weather is still a bit cold at 33F.  Today is the Vernal Equinox, so a happy Spring to all.  It's a good time for starting new things, or reviving old ones.  Time to think about getting out with the camera a bit more, and going for walks.
I don't mind that the shades of Winter linger on.  There's even a small chance of snow tomorrow.
This is my 700th post, so it appears I've decided to keep up with this blogging life.  Assuming Blogger continues this platform, I daresay the blog will outlive me.... somewhere waaay (let's hope) down the road.  That's eerie.  People will still search for "iron workers at lunch" and come up with images from my blog.  Lots of traffic on that one post over the years.
The cat's are meowing for their morning meal.  I'm off to serve them.
I hope your Spring is filled with wonderful new beginnings !

any suggestions, folks?

Well, we have reached 300 in the 365 free-draw/free-write extravaganza.  Once again I come to you, dear reader, for suggestions on how to proceed.  Do you have any subjects for free draws or free writes for us?  What would you like to read/see that you haven't read/seen already on these pages.  It is so hard for us to come up with new stuff.  Sometimes we are trying to write on the subjects that originally come to mind as "draws"... like we did with altars.  Cool when a subject presents itself that way.
But whatever suggestions you may have would be greatly appreciated.

299-300/365 free draw/write, altars

Brought up in the Catholic religion (however loosely), I think first of the altar in church.  I guess one is baptized by/at the altar, and receives first holy communion at the altar--both of which I did.  Could be wrong, these things maybe don't happen at the altar, I don't remember my Catholicism.
I know I never married at the altar, or anywhere else for that matter.
I've never been too into the idea of having my own pagan altar.  I can't contain all my sacred "stuff" to one small area.  So, you could say there are touches of altars all over the place.  This picture shows the closest I've come to having an altar.

It may be a good idea to make space for one again.  The crystals could use a recharging center, as well as myself.

another legend dies -- RIP Alvin Lee

Yesterday I learned that Alvin Lee died at the age of 68.  So young to be leaving, as always.  Sadly enough, he died from complications following a routine surgical procedure.  I remember rocking in the aisles while watching the Woodstock movie, and listening to "I'm Going Home".  Classic Alvin Lee.  He sure could wail on that guitar. You've got to listen to the whole ten minutes to really appreciate the man's bluesy style.  RIP Alvin Lee, hope you're rockin' upstairs with oh so many others who have passed away.

happy days with Logan

Watched Logan with my sister last night while Melissa and JC went out to a party.  He is growing by leaps and bounds, and talking up a storm.  Here's some pics of him, and of him playing with my sister's hair.
