buried cars

I post some of my pics on the WeatherUnderground ( from time to time, and this one got chosen as an Approver's Choice yesterday.  I thought that was pretty neat.

first 2011 post - a morning ramble

Fog horns bellow in the far distance, moving out to sea from the harbor. Trucks rumble over asphalt; cars swish by. The traffic is light or non existent, as it is only 5:30am on a sunday.

All the holidays are over. On the eve I got together with my friend, evie, as we do each year... but we ended the night at 9pm, calling it a West coast new year's eve. At midnight I watched the ball descend in Times Square, and counted down with the people. I yelled happy new year loudly 3 times, and clapped... knowing one should make noise to ring out the old, and welcome the new. Little Guy sat next to me, and shook when I yelled the first time, but then just relaxed, and welcomed the new year beside me. Morrison was somewhere in the living room, oblivious to our reveling.

The best part of 2010 was having Logan in our lives for the first full year. What an addiction he is... you just can't get enough of him. I love watching his interactions with the world; his eyes are so expressive.

The next best thing was getting the camera, my Nikon first digital SLR. I've really enjoyed taking pictures again, even though I don't go too many places. I still miss film (too expensive to deal with), but I don't think I'd ever be able to get used to *waiting* for pictures again. And the freedom of taking as many pictures as you want without having to worry about the film running out is great, too.

Above all, having my family around me, and good friends, was the high point of the year, as goes with any year, thank God. I treasure them all, and hope they realize that.

This year is ahead of me now. I cannot yet forsee how it will unfold. I have not thrown the coins yet for this year, so the I Ching cannot advise me. I will no doubt do that soon.

I hope to be a better person than I was the year before. I guess that is the wish of many people.. or at least I would hope so. I want to be a better daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. I want to take lots more photographs, and hopefully get better with my subject matter and composition. I hope to sell some stuff, too. And I want to get back into doll-making, so I hope I can get some supplies one of these days. Which brings me to money, which I hope is more abundant this year.

I want to finish my novel, which I have neglected for the past several weeks now. I think it's nearing the end. I just want done with it so I can go onto the 2nd draft.

There are bigger things I want, but I might as well say I want to win the lottery, rather than expound on all of them.

I want I want I want.

I have I have I have.

I hope to continue with blogging, and to interact with so many of you who visit me, and whom I visit. Thanks to so many of you who follow me.
