Logan had a big day today. First some trick or treating on the avenue with his mom, and then a Halloween party with his friends. Afterward they were all going trick or treating again, so Logan went along with his mom. He was to spend the overnight at Grandma's, so I went along for the ride, getting there about 7pm. Logan brought some candy along, and shared it. He played Scrabble with grandma. We all had a dinner of chicken cutlets, corn on the cob, and green beans. We watched some of The World Series (unfortunately, The Mets lost again), Logan cuddling up on the couch to do so. Soon his eyes got heavy, and it didn't take long for him to reach dreamland once his head hit the pillow.

super heroes and heroines
Tonight there was a Halloween party at my great-nephew's school, St. Patricks. He went as Batman, and his mama went as Bat Girl. A beautiful pairing. The music was loud, and the kids danced, and were loud... I am definitely feeling my age! (click on any pic to see the series larger)

a day late and a dollar short
A day late, but here are a couple of pics of Logan on Halloween, and with his mom. She said he had a great time, and made out well, trick or treating along 3rd avenue, with a couple of buddies. He's just getting so big! My darling Superman, Logan.
Hmm, couldn't post the one of Mel and Logan... had copied it from Facebook, where Mel had posted it. Sometimes that happens with pics copied from FB... something's up with their file codes, I guess.
So... it's November! This year just went whoooooosh. Still in recoup mode after the operation, which is not much different than the mode I'm usually in, hehe. Truth. Had one drain removed yesterday, but the other is still going strong, so hopefully by next week it will be out. As part of reconstruction, I started to get "filled" in the expanders.... the nurse injected 150ccs of saline into each expander ... this stretches the skin in preparation for the implant, and is done for weeks to months, every week. I was told there would possibly be pain, but it's not much different than the tightness that's already been there from the start.
No word on when I'll start chemo or radiation yet. I guess I will know soon. Gonna be a strange holiday season.

170/365 Halloween
Happy Halloween to all. I hope you have experienced ghosts and goblins and super heroes, and ballerinas all trick or treating at your door, and that you handed out sweets and goodies to all who came a knockin'. Very quiet here in the apartment house. Not a soul knocking on the door. Best, since there were no treats to give. I enjoyed Halloween as a kid. Fondly remember such dress ups as a beatnik, a cat, a bum. Fun stuff. I saw one princess type while I went to the store before, but no more than that. Things have changed. Children don't go out without chaperones, and everybodies too busy. Hopefully there were parties in homes, and good times still to be had by the young ones.

tuesday morning
An apartment across the street has a Christmas tree set up by the window. It's lit by early afternoon, into the evening. I'll have to get a picture of it later on. It's not even Halloween! I get disoriented every time I look out the window and see that oddly timed trimmed tree.
[hard to get a decent shot of this, but you get the gist]
A block away, along the bigger intersection, they've strung the Christmas lights already... traditionally they get lit on thanksgiving night or the night after. I hope they don't get crazy and light them up for Halloween... though that'd be spooky.
Last night me and ev played several games of Gomoku, and one game of Scrabble. It's good to play games sometimes.

Gomoku
Lingering over a cup of coffee now. The day is grey and rainy. I have some medical testing today (and tomorrow) around noon, so I won't be doing much before that.
The streetsweeper passes by; boy does that make a big sound. Startled me. Traffic is in full force. I like the sound of it going over the wet pavement.
My contented cats sit nearby. They've eaten their morning meal, and all is right in their world.
