rooftop images

(I've taken this same shot a number of times.  Sometimes I'm lucky
enough to get a blue sky out of it, but today was overcast and grey.)

(I don't know what these contraptions are, but I think they have
something to do with a cell phone tower on the roof.
Who knows what a health risk that is.  The landlord never bothered
to inform the tenants that this thing would be put on the roof.)

little superstar

Another favorite subject of mine stopped by while on a walk with his mommy.  He is 9 months old now, and started to crawl a couple of weeks ago.

Morrison

I guess my handsome Morrison is a favorite subject of mine.  Here you can see the torn up screen, which occured when he was first here, and very feral.  He has since found this a satisfying place to stay, and has no desire to wander.  And so, in the setting sun....

and the evening light

early morning light, looking NW

The sun was just rising in the east.  You can see 2 seagulls under the cloud if you enlarge the photo.  They are traveling to breakfast, in the harbor, just beyond the trees..

can't sleep, so just a note

It's 20 past 5 in the morning, and I have been up all night. Did some novel writing, but not enough to warrant being up till this hour. But sometimes sleep just doesn't find its way into your bones, and your head is awake, too.

I had an email in my spam box last night that gave me pause with the subject line of "long lost". It didn't seem spam-like. I opened it up, and it turns out it is my (long lost) cousin who I haven't seen in some twenty or thirty years. Last I remember she lived in Arizona. Oddly enough, Iive up the block from the house she lived in as a kid.She was doing a search for our surname, and found me on one of the art sites I belong to. It was so good to hear from her, and I look forward to reconnecting through this wonderful web.

It's still dark out, but I don't think there's much chance of sleep just yet. Not feeling it.

Today is Labor Day... the unofficial "end of summer". Children are returning to school this week, and the streets will be quiet.

I have no particular plans.

Patria Solvania

Patria Solvania is a character in my novel. She is a gypsy/shaman type woman, who runs a little shop in the mountains of Colorado. In the shop she sells coffee beans, teas, and various herbs. My friend, evie tirado was kind enough to portray Patria in one of her paintings.

september at last

So, it's September at last. The worst of summer will be on its way out soon, and boy, am I glad about that. It's the season I like the least.

I have finally backed up my novel onto a cd.... well 101, 000 words of it. Now I don't have to panic if the computer goes down someday. Glad I finally got around to doing that.

There's nothing much going on in my little world lately. Just wanted to get my first September post in here.
