my poor Little Guy

If you can't stomach pictures of open wounds and such, I suggest you don't read this post.

My Little Guy got into a brawl with Morrison the other day. It got pretty bad before I had a chance to stop it. Morrison got the better of Little Guy.

A couple of days had passed before Little Guy licked fur from his side, and revealed a bite mark. He seemed to be doing okay with it, though, and I wasn't that worried. Then, overnight, he licked off even more fur, and revealed the worst of it, as seen in the second picture.

He went for surgery yesterday, and had to have a drain sutured in. The third picture shows him as he is now, with the drain in place (for 4 days); I need to flush the drain, top and bottom, a few times a day. I hope he stands for it. He is hating the cone on his head most of all.

heatwave's over for now

We have been having 100+ temps here, and its been miserably hot. The heatwave broke today, with temps in the 80's, and there was a lovely sunset tonight. It's still very humid, but getting more tolerable. Unfortunately, it's going to be up around 90 again tomorrow.
Just found out that this photo was chosen as an "Approver's Choice" on Weather Underground. It always tickles me when it happens.

Logan's latest

My great-nephew. What a joy. He will be 19 months old tomorrow, the 9th, and he is growing like a weed...35 inches already (89 centimeters).

july has come

It's the first of July, and half this year has gone already. Time rushes on.

Today I have been writing on my novel. Surprisingly enough, six new characters have just entered, all of them sisters, I had not planned on this, and am intrigued as to why they have shown up. The only way I find out is to keep on writing, but I'm taking a break right now.

My characters are drinking raspberry leaf tea, and I wish I had some myself, but Lipton will have to do.

It's a blue sky day, with lots of puffy white clouds. Temps in the 80's but it's nice and dry, which is a pleasure.

Hope all of you have a fun and safe weekend.
