expect the unexpected

I've missed the past couple of Wishcasting Wednesdays, so today I'm going to get back into it. Today's question: "What do you wish to invite in?"

This is a difficult one for me. The first thing I thought of was "love", and the second thing, "visitors". Now, except for one dear friend, and an occasional family member, I don't have visitors! And they are not something I foster, either. I am quite the loner. Making "visitors" a wish is very big for me. (Maybe I could narrow it down to visitors to my blog! hehe)
I wish to invite in love, as well. From family and friends, and from "someone special" (like we used to write in high school yearbooks). The love from someone special scares the hell out of me, but I'll take the chance if it comes along again.

So there are my answers to what I wish to invite in. Both answers step far outside my comfort zone, and I am all to aware of the adage, "Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it." But I take the chance of putting out there to the universe.... and I hope I am able to meet the challenge.

thursday afternoon

I was out early this morning when it was gray and misty. Saw that the cherry blossom tree, a block away, was beginning to bloom. And several trees, budding lightly. Crocus and daffodils are popping up in front porch gardens, and the sparrows are starting to get loud in the morning.

This afternoon the sun came out, and warmed up the day. My mom came for a visit, traveling a long bus ride on her motorized wheelchair (she has MS, and cannot walk)... she is so amazing at 81. She is safely home now.

A lovely and unexpected thursday afternoon.

springing into action

The painting is done, and now I am faced with the task of rearranging, and more cleaning. The spackle dust made its way everywhere, it seems, despite drop clothes and such. They weren't the best drop clothes, being made of flimsy plastic, like a grocery bag.

My penchant for saving things becomes increasingly annoying, as surfaces are taken over by stuff. Paper is a constant nemesis. Being a crafter doesn't help, either! But it is what it is.

This is a whole new start (restart?) for my apartment, and little by little, I will get it to where I want it to be.

About two months ago, I had written an affirmation statement about how I wanted my apartment to be newly painted and clean, and an inviting space for people. It seems these things are coming to pass, I just wonder about the inviting space, and who will be the invited!? I'm not much for visitors, except for my best friend, evie, who happens to live right across the hall from me! :~) We've know each other over 34 years, and she is the one person who can come to my place no matter what it looks like. But apparently I am affirming more visitors in my life, so we'll see what happens in these coming months.
