Start froma place of silence -- deep sleep. Wake to the sound of traffic and infrequent bird chatter. The sounds of the city fills my ears -- rumbling trucks, and zooming cars.
Change the sound to music on the stereo -- piano tinklings of Keith Jarrett, bringing me to a place of inner peace. One note drops, another lifts up.
An airplane whooshes through the clouds. The sound of somewhere to go.
Sometimes I want to cover myself from all sounds, and just listen to the silence, which can best be heard when there's been a heavy snowfall.
The alarm clock bekons with wake-up sound, so annoying. That's no way to wake up -- it drowns out the sound of dreams.
*A free-write is a type of automatic writing, where you just go with your stream of consciousness non-stop. There's no thought to spelling or grammar, and no editing of words. Supposedly this opens the mind up to greater creativity. They can be 5, 10 or 20 minutes long. Visit Evie, whom I freewrite with, at the space between colors.
