gift from Canada
Yesterday I received the nicest gift from my internet friend, Stephanie. It is a tool roll for my sculpting tools. It is so beautiful, with a wolf print fabric that I just love. Thank you, Stephanie, for such a dear gift, I will treasure it always!

circling

You come softly, I don't notice
until it's too late
and there you are
in my mind again
in my heart
You circle me like the sun
round and round
and in a burst of thunder
I am under
again
Is this the last fall?
The one that tumbles me
down the rabbit hole
and into a whole new world
that doesn't exist with you?
If I drink up these last drops
of our time together
Maybe I will see the glass
as empty as it is
and my mind and heart will follow

some crafts
Creativity has been more an ebb than a flow these days, but here are some simple earrings I made, and a work-in-progress piece.

total solar eclipse
Tonight is the new moon, and one minute after (10:24EST) there is a total solar eclipse (seen throughout Asia). I do wonder what effect such an event has on individuals.
This is a stream of consciousness piece:
I'm waiting for the rain to come, and the clouds are dense. The nearly dark moon shoves itself against me, rattling my brain, and turning me like the sun, all yang and irritation, wanting to growl and scratch and at least break something.
It's a breaking out I need. Is it a moon thing, this feeling where I must undress my skin, go invisible, like the moon, my veins and arteries cool camouflage for tiger lilies and tuber roots
So much of me mud, and the ingredients for houses built with good thick logs. I need to break ... it's not how it sounds, but it screams the same, it rips and roars... But it climbs as well, sometimes, it soars.

stroke of the brush award
My deep thanks to James Oh, and kj for this lovely award.

This is the Stroke of the Brush Award, which recognizes and celebrates the willingness to take risks, speak honestly, act with integrity, and in the process create and share colors and/or words that stroke our curiosity and brush aside our differences.
I'd like to pass this award onto a couple of people I find inspiring:
evie and Melissa

expect the unexpected

I've missed the past couple of Wishcasting Wednesdays, so today I'm going to get back into it. Today's question: "What do you wish to invite in?"
This is a difficult one for me. The first thing I thought of was "love", and the second thing, "visitors". Now, except for one dear friend, and an occasional family member, I don't have visitors! And they are not something I foster, either. I am quite the loner. Making "visitors" a wish is very big for me. (Maybe I could narrow it down to visitors to my blog! hehe)
I wish to invite in love, as well. From family and friends, and from "someone special" (like we used to write in high school yearbooks). The love from someone special scares the hell out of me, but I'll take the chance if it comes along again.
So there are my answers to what I wish to invite in. Both answers step far outside my comfort zone, and I am all to aware of the adage, "Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it." But I take the chance of putting out there to the universe.... and I hope I am able to meet the challenge.

the ocean goddess, my thanks, and one haiku
A few things.
Firstly...Who is the Ocean Goddess? Many of you find your way to my blog via a search for her, and end up finding another page.
But who is the Ocean Goddess. What did you find out in your search?
Is she The Beautiful Shell Woman? Protectress of unborn children? Or a Keeper of deep secrets?
What depths she must reach, going into a darkness we cannot know; the seas and all the Earth leaning against her. How mighty she must be!
Are you searching this page for an answer? Perhaps you can leave one for me.
Secondly... I'd like to thank Yoon See for her friendship here in the blogisphere. She recently gifted me with this lovely award, which happens to be a perfect picture for "Reading The Sky":
And last, but not least, a haiku for my fellow blogger Spotted Wolf.
